Hello from Michigan's great upper pennisula. I'm currently a student at Michigan Tech and ride a '98 cannondale f600 as my commuter/mtn bike and an older kestrel 200sc road bike.
From the encouragement of some friends (who already make the winter commute on bike) I plan to attempt my first Houghton winter on bike this year. For those of you unfamiliar with a Houghton winter, there's lots of snow (300"+) and lots of gusting winds, but temps are usually on the warm side of cold. Luckily I only have a 2+ mile commute, one way!
Anyway, nice to meet y'all.
