weight and some say ultegra is smoother i say for the average cat 105 is good enough but i also say you only live once

The finish is nicer on the Ultegra, but function wise their very close to the same; some say the Ultegra is smoother but some I've talked to said they couldn't tell the difference. I know quite a few racers racing on 105 and they are not kicking down doors at their LBS's to upgrade to Ultegra or Dura Ace.
