Seeing windsurfers the other day on my commute, had me thinking of last winter and these folks out on the lakes with a parasail, and skates or short skis on their feet. I wondered if that would be functional on a bike, like an MTB with some homemade studded tires, and an open lake, it wouldn't work on streets, but on a windy day, I could see hauling butt at some wild speeds across the open ice.
Anyone try it or know of someone nuts enough to try it, other than me?

Dude, I would love to try it. It seems like a financial commitment is required to rig up a bike with something though, and I think that's what is really stopping people.
I know a guy cazy enough to try it! A good friend of mine, in fact. He lives in the Twin Cities. Just moved from St. Paul to Minneapolis and has a fetish for fixies. :D
