Quite likely that they're made all over the world...as is the case with most cars & trucks. I make parts that mostly go to the Big Three. But also to Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, etc. Why does location of manufacture matter?

Why would you be worried? Hyundai is a worldwide conglomerate, just like any other major car maker. And in my experience, they are so dependable, they rarely need anything other than oil filters.

Wouldn't many, if not most, of the parts suppliers be in South Korea?

No matter where they are located. The parts are all provided by the low bidder.

I heard on the radio the other day that a study found that Hyundai/Kia made more cars in the US than any other manufacturer. But that's the finished product. The parts? Probably the same US/Japan/Canada/Korea/Mexico jumble as all the rest.

...and China. They work with the Chinese quite a bit.
Hyundai/Kia is the next Toyota. They will become the "go-to" company for lots of people. The recession is actually helping them because since many of their customers have historically been "bottom feeders" trying to buy their first new car, their dealers are more adept at securing financing for iffy credit situations. When I bought my Hyundai I went in with pre-approved financing but their finance department found financing that beat the rate I had lined up.
At the next desk over, the finance guy was explaining the process to a younger guy with his dad, explaining the various options in terms of whether or not to cosign, how to get the rate down if dad didn't cosign, etc. They had a program set up with a local credit union that would make the buyer automatically eligible for refinancing if he made all payments on time for the first year of the loan.
Their previous clientele positioned them well for dealing with the current economic climate.

Yeah, I knew I was missing someone there.
My dad's new Ford Fiesta has some parts under the hood clearly labeled as being from Brazil and Germany.

I'm probably going to get a Genesis Coup next year. Hyundais are great cars.

Ding, ding, ding!! We have a winner.
I don't think Rube was asking about car parts as much as the situation in Korea.
Though with his track record, worrying over parts is also a valid concern!

Oh shoot, South Korea isn't going anywhere. That awful little toadstool up north just likes to throw a temper tantrum every couple years to grab some attention, sort of like the Real Housewives of Atlanta, only with his own personal army.

At the rate that my car is falling apart, Korean instability is the last thing I need.
Does China makes any cars?

A few, apparently:

In '08, Chery (one of the bigger Chinese car companies) was going to start a dealership in Austin. However due to the anti-Chinese sentiment stoked on during the election, the company pulled the plug on the project.
We all have too much time invested in that Hyundai for you to change beaters.
What the hell are you doing?
