Introductions - Another newbie

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi all: Started cycling after about 50+ years last August. Put on 750 miles so far and enjoying it tremendously.
Had a continuing pain in the left thigh/quad that bike fitting didn't help. Finally saw the doc and have a moderate blockage of the artery. Angiogram this Tuesday to determine what's next, angioplasty or surgery. In the meantime still rode yesterday and this morning. A bit nippy for CA at 39 degrees. Hopefully will not be out of the saddle too long - there's a possibility that treatment can be meds/exercise which would be great. Film at 11.
Hello and welcome to BikeForums!
Best wishes with the treatment.

Welcome. While you're recovering from surgery or on meds, why not stop by the 50+ forum and say hello to the old timers. I'm one of them. I'm 66. :)

Thanks. An update: Angiogram found three blockages. Angioplasty last Monday the 27th. Left external iliac artery blocked 99%, a smaller blockage farther down in the femoral and the third just above the left knee (left untreated.) Pain in left leg no surprise to the doc since so little blood getting through.
Procedure went well, went home same day and went in to office for a few hours Thursday; worked half day today and a planned full tomorrow.:)
Supposedly can ride after three to four weeks, but I won't push it. There is a plug in my right femoral where they started the catheter.
So, my riding will be on the laptop for the next two weeks minimum. Heading over to the 50+ now to say hello.

Welcome to the forums - 750 miles since August is a really great start! Like the doc says, don't push it too hard. Take it easy and get well. Wishing the best, hope you can get out riding in no time! 39 Degrees sounds awesome compared to what we're riding in up here!
