I've never listened to Kid Cudi, and I still haven't because I have my computer on mute. I really feel like I should at least give him a shot, no?

Emo pop hop! I mean, Kanye said he's the best there ever was. And Kanye's always right, right?

God I hate Kanye, this makes me not want to listen to him. Also, Kayne said someone besides himself is the greatest? This is shocking.

Do you think Pharrell, Kanye and Kid Cudi are in a fixed gear gang together? Terrorizing the streets of...Hollywood, flashing skid salutes left and right... ?

dsh

Did you not see my post? That IS Kanye's fixed skid salute.

Ok, maybe I need to take a second to explain something.

Rap and hip hop are two different things. Im not going to define them as their definitions are plastic and ever changing. However, when you hear an "artist" on the radio of popular "rap" song, they typically purchased their beat, lyrics and style from third parties.(not to mention the auto-tune) Hip hop artists (or what I consider them to be) have major influence in the production of their music including writing their own songs, beat development, and studio work. While Kid Cudi may have some talent, you wont see much of it until he gets enough money to really work with his own label. If you take a look at things, most all great hip hop artists have had to start their own label or collaborate with others in order to produce things that arent radio ready and have musical quality.

I mean ya, the **** you hear on the radio is just that. But, if you all got off of hip hops back for a second, dug beneath the surface, you might just be amazed at the knowledge that is spoken faster than you can think and to a rhythm your bouncing to.

When/who was dissing hip hop and/or rap? I thought this was just about super cool fixed gear gangs full of hipster rappers (or, are they hip-hopers?) flying through space, fighting aliens and ****. But I guess I could be wrong

You are wrong. Its ok. I never said anyone was dissing anything. Just stating there is a broad difference between the two.

When/who was discussing hip hop/rap? Well, read the thread.

Dont assume people are being confrontational.

This can apply to almost any musical genres and subgenres and sub sub subgenres.

We're mostly just making fun of Mr. West and his skid salute.
