Oh my goodness! How much will this go for? I would rather see it go to someone who could ride it as it is much too small for me but I won't let it go too cheap. Reserve is at least $600.

Oh I agree but that is easily remedied and those horrid wheel sold off for a good price. And period correct wheels, brakes and RD/FD are fairly easy to come by and those C Record parts and Cobaltos will fetch a good price. Maybe someone needs to save this bike :-)

Agreed on the wheelset.

I must have four or five wheelsets that would "look" great/appropriate on this beauty.

Very easy upgrade.

Almost certainly a repaint. Still, the value is in the frameset itself, the pantographed crankset and pantographed stem. The other parts, despite not being original are still rare and would fund the majority of the retro-fit to OEM. The frame is small enough to the attract the lucrative Japanese collectors. This one could go very high.

would that account for the Piaggio decal for a headbadge? I sort of (smiley scratching her head) recall seeing some Bianchis like this but I think older lower level mdels yes?

No, the 1981 catalog shows the racing models with the Piaggio decal on the head tube.

Wow, it's in my size : )
But something about this one looks off to me, so the comments about later-date components and a possible repaint make sense.
