I was curious if anyone had a hairnet helmet that they'd be interested in selling? Or if they are aware of where I might be able to find one other than ebay. Let me know.

Talk to you all soon.

No death wish just happen to have an interest. Do you have any leads?

Renaissance Cycles has them occasionally, although they are sold out right now. Send them an Email. Just don't be in a hurry to get your order.

A couple of months ago I actually saw a biker riding with an old "Hair Net". Ufortunatel I was on foot in a parking lot when I saw him ride by or I would have chased him down. I would have liked to talk to him. I have been riding road bike since I got out of the army in 1946 and the hair net was used at that time only by racers. They did not normally wear them in training but only in races where crashes were common. I think they offered some protection, but nothing like a modern helmet.

I've seen them from time to time on e-bay. Someone was selling
NOS Cinelli hairnets for some ridiculous price (like $10.00).
Check some of the vintage bike shops/parts suppliers
(like Vintage Velos ) Classic rendezvous has a good set of
links to suppliers.

What size are you looking for? You should measure the circumference of your head in cm to determine the size. The most common sizes are between 56 and 60 cm. You should also detemine whether or not you plan to wear a hat underneath or not.

Cool Lid esp. in the heat! So...is this skid-lid as safe as the newer ones?
