Hello

Could anyone suggest a bottom pull front derailleur (28.6mm) for a triple 28-38-48 with a view to swapping this for something smaller for touring in hilly areas?

I'm using thumb shifters.

Thanks, Tom

do you need one for flat bar shifters or road drop bar levers?

M571 Deore is what I got years ago for my 48t outer ring triple,
the term 'Trekking' seems applied to the mid sized triples these days.
at least when selling into the EU market.

What thumb shifters are you using? Some are indexed, some aren't. Makes a difference in your derailleur choice.

I'm not sure about the suntour, but the 105 is designed for road purposes, so your thumb shifter needs to be a friction type with no indexing to work. Actually, you might also have to consider how the 105 FD-5600 is designed for narrow 10sp chains, which means if your bike uses a wider chain for fewer speeds, it's more likely to rub.
