Has anyone signed up for this event yet?

I noticed it was mentioned in the thread talking about the two new events in BC this year in addition to the Whistler event but figured this deserved its own thread where people could chat about it.

Theyre advertising this as about a 2000 person event... Id like to get a sense of what kind of interest this drawing so far.

A friend of mine did this race last year and had good things to say. I'm trying to get some information on the Ryder Hesjedal Tour de Victoria (http://www.tourdevictoria.com). I've ridden in Victoria before and it's a pretty beautiful place to visit. They're going to have 1500 riders and a 90km and 140km circuit. I followed Ryder Hesjedal pretty intently in the Tour de France in 2010 so it would be a fun event to ride in. Registration doesn't begin until 2011 but I'm curious to see if anyone else is thinking about this mass participation race. Victoria BC, Gran Fondo. (http://www.tourdevictoria.com)
