Foo - How I spent Columbus Holiday.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Many folks have asked about my screen name. So, I thought I'd share this with everyone. It is my Amateur Radio call sign issued by the F.C.C. (N7CZ) I hold an Amateur Extra license and am an avid CW (morse code) operator. I also enjoy VHF/UHF weak signal modes. (CW, FSK441, JT44, and others)
My buddy and I spent a good part of this weekend putting up my new tower. I've attached a photo of me on the tower and a shot of the top with the antennas. I have one left to put up once it arrives from another friends place next month.
Anyway, there ya have it.

Holy crap! I just tore yesterday's page off my calender after reading your post and found out today is Columbus day! School being in session sure takes me out of the loop. I even missed John Lennon's birthday on Saturday.
BTW, looks like a fun project
Who do you talk to and where? Is it just for fun kind of like talking to people on the internet from around the world?
Hi Methos!
I talk to other Amateur Radio Operators. I am also involved in experimental communication using tiny meteors that hit the earth all the time.
I am also a registered "Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service" (RACES) station as well as an Amateur Radio Emergency Service station. (ARES). I am trained in several aspects of disaster support.
