I have a GT Saddleback. I want to race a bit this year and need to upgrade. I want to upgrade my whole drivetrain, bar, and fork. I have a threaded fork:(. If anyone knows of a good threaded fork, please tell me! If not i'll convert to threadless. I will spend a reasonable amount of money on parts. I really want shimano XT components. I dont know how to size everything though. Any help is wanted.

P.S. Im going to the bike shop tomorrow and wednesday.

I don't know if a quality threaded suspension fork is findable. I've looked because I'm partial to traditional quill stems. It sounds like you want to upgrade almost everything on the frame, so just add a threadless stem and headset onto your wish list.

Regarding the other measurements, you won't go wrong by bringing the bike into the shop to have them size up your needs.

Good luck on your racing season. I'm starting training tomorrow morning...or maybe the next morning.

Have a shop cut threads into the steer tube of the fork of your choice.
