Winter Cycling - Tight Question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm going to try to use the bike all winter this year, so I bought a couple of pairs of cycling tights - one padded, one not padded. I assume the the padded variety are supposed to be worn on thier own, like cycling shorts, on less bitter days? I know the other type go over the regular shorts. Probably a stupid question, but I'm still pretty new to this.

You got it right, put the padded ones on first then put the unpadded ones on over them. :)
That was your question right?
Remember no question is stupid, If you don't know ask.

Actually, the padded ones are bib tights and they seem to fit a little looser than regular cycling sorts. I wasn't sure if you're supposed to wear something under those, even though that would defeat the purpose of the chamois, or wear them solo like cycling shorts.

You could always throw them in the dryer that will shrink them a bit. If your going to be riding in the winter. Keep them loose the air pockets help keep you warm,
