Glad to see this. The other day somebody asked what I'd like to do after college. I told them that one day I'd like to be a bike messenger. Then they asked if I was gonna go back to the 1920s. I wish I had this picture in hand to say, "No, even further back."

"velocipede" is associated with pre-safety frame bicycles that emerged in the mid 1800's... by the turn of the century the modern diamond frame, chain driven bicycle has emerged as the preferred design.

At first I was thinking they sure had a lot of oil cans on the right wall but I realized those were the wax cylinders that were played on the phonographs.
