I really wanted a Stumpjumper, but the cost of a new one is just out of reach for me. I was watching CL for bike stuff when this 03 came up. I really wanted the newer frame design of the 04-06, but when the guy negotiated the price to $450, I couldn't resist. I took it for a couple of short rides and the only changes I had to make for a perfect fit was to raise the seatpost about 1/2 inch.

The only non-original parts are the Shimano hydraulic brakes were replaced with Avid mechanicals. I can live with that. Also, the original Manitou Axle Super fork was replaced with a 06/07 Fox F-100 RL. :D :D :D Oh yeah, I can live with that change.
I figure at the price I paid I've got some room for repairs/upgrades. Certainly the tires will need to be upgraded and I'd like to replace the Specialized cranks with Hollowtech Shimano cranks. So anyway, Santa, thanks for the early delievery
