Is a 2011 Trek Madone 4.7 frame able to accept a SRAM BB30 bottom bracket?

AFAIK BB 30 is part of changing how the frame is made ..
external bearings moved to be internally mounted, in effect,
by frame widening at the BB.
so if the external bearing cup screws in , that's what you live with.

Or go, of course.. out and Buy a BB 30 Frame-set.

Stick with your current frameset and get a standard crankset-. BB30 is just a bunch of marketing hype. If you're not a pro rider then the extra stiffness won't matter to you, and the weight differences are very minor.

I'm sure it won't take a BB30. Check out Park Tool for good info on this:

If you are looking for a BB30 frame try Cannondale or Specialized.

You keep telling youself that. A good portion of mid-high end 2011 bike models are now BB30 compatible. Not to mention reuseable BB30 adapaters, are cheap and readily available. Meaning you get best of both worlds. I really don't get this bikeforums retrogrouching.
