Has anyone had a chance to check out the new Folding E-bike by Prodeco Technologies? It is called the Mariner S. It seems easy to fold, has a stainless chain, and all sealed bearings, with either a 200W or 250W motor (at no extra charge), and they claim 2000+ recharge cycles. Range is 15-25 miles on a full charge with an extended battery available that will go 50+.
I ask because it is selling for $899, and that seems like a lot of bike for not alot of dollars???

Front wheel motors have been used in many bikes already.
have no idea about that brand, so you tell us all about it.

i've thought about these from time to time. if i could save a few minutes on hilly trips, might be nice. but overall, i think the extra annoyance of lifting and biking with that extra weight for 6 days a week, for maybe 1 day a week usage, is not worth it for me.

Unless you weigh less than 50 lbs., I can't imagine a 200 watt motor helping on any hills.

Maybe the folks at NYCE Wheels (http://www.nycewheels.com/brompton-electric-bike.html) know something about that particular bike. At $899, there may be some corners cut somewhere. NYCE folks certainly put together what I would consider the ideal folding electric bike (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChoVvbQ1_lo&feature=player_embedded). Costs way more than $899, though you really get what you pay for.
