I'm taking a trip to New Orleans next week for a few days and wanted to take my bike to get in some training miles in the warm weather. Only problem is, I don't have a clue as to the best routes to ride, mainly to avoid traffic. I was hoping some of you that ride there every day could point me in the right direction. I'm staying at a hotel on Royal St. in the French Quarter and looking to ride at least 2 hours at a time. Thanks

The forecast for next week is not for "warm weather".
OTOH, route-wise, for a non-local, the most-often recommended route is along the levee(aka the Mississippi River Trail). Take a look at googlemaps, find a route for yourself from your hotel to the Audubon Park area on St. Charles Ave, turn left/away from the bell tower at Tulane University and go down to the river (or continue along St. Charles Ave for about 3/4 mile to just past Carrolton Ave and the levee is there. Go up the levee and turn right -- 20-30 miles of unrestricted bike path.

Thanks! As for the warm weather, it's 21 degrees here right now. It looks like about 70 with rain for Thurs/Fri/Sat. For me, that's warm.
