Have looked at a 2006 specialized carbon stuntjumper. I am more in to roadbiking and have a 2010 sworks sl3. I plan to do the leadville 50 and want to train and hit some hills around here but will still focus on the road.

800 bucks gets me a solid frame with no apparent damage. Appears to have shimano xd components off of a 08 hardtail. Stan's front and rear wheels.

Should i buy a newer frame but maybe a non-sworks or is the price good enough to justify the older bike? I am not really asking if the price is good but more or less if I should go a different direction in terms of my needs versus cash outlay versus value. So in a way i an asking about price. But it isnt my main concern.

First all-important question: does it fit you?

Beyond that, it sounds like a good price if it's healthy. If I were doing Leadville, I'd consider that a suitable platform to build on. Even well-conditioned mortals end up pushing the bike on the hard stuff at that altitude, so a light hardtail with light wheels is what I'd take.

I am very mortal. Lol. It is a 17 inch bike. I ride a 56 cannondale caad 9 and 58 inch pro geometry sl3. On paper it appears to fit me enough to at least drive the 30 minutes to look at it and make sure.

I ride a 56 and 58 road size, and 17 inch (Medium, IIRC) would be too small for me. YMMV

Thanks guy. Guess I will go get fit. I have longer torso and arms and shorter legs. My measured inseam was 32 i believe. Just a tad under 6 foot. I will hold off on this bike.
