Advocacy & Safety - Need bike / fanny sign ideas

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
OK people, I'd like to mount a flexible sign on my bike or fanny to put inspiration signs on my butt for the cagers out there. I'm thinking of flexible whiteboard material with a buckle waist-strap, and trim it with reflective tape. Any other ideas?

purchase one of those clear plastic map holders sold for motorcycles. they usually have velcro on the back for adherance to the tankbag. you could probably sew (or get mom/wife/gf to do it if you don't sew) a belt loop of two onto it and use a race belt to keep it on.
Then you can change signs as your mood dictates...

If you are geek-inclined, this LED scrolling display (http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1147) might be a possible solution for a rolling message board. Of course you need a 12-volt power source like a SLA battery.

Tell the world what you think
John Bell of Nyx Illuminated Clothing simply needed to walk down the aisles of the trade show to catch attention. It wasn't really Bell that drew stares, but his jacket. The darn thing features a programmable display on the back upon which one can flash messages, images or even a sound-responsive light show.
Still in the prototype stage, the jacket's display can be programmed via a handheld computer. Currently, the system requires a user to connect via a USB port, but production models will feature Bluetooth wireless. Unfortunately, the display is hard to photograph, so you will have to take our word for how cool it is.
Once beyond the prototype stage, the jacket will probably retail in the $200 to $300 range. Bell says that messages of infinite complexity can be loaded into the jacket, meaning that we will have little or no trouble typing in our favorite message to motorists: "Put down the coffee, hang up the phone and DRIVE!"
The technology can be used in all sorts of clothing and Bell is already manufacturing items with small displays like armbands. Some have already suggested using the display in the back windows of their cars... mmmm. It does send the imagination reeling, eh?

Dude! When I first moved here, I felt menaced by the drivers in the capital of the 'Have a Nice Day' state, and that was in my own car!
PainTrain, don't get me started on Sactown drivers. Why is it so hard to understand that when you get to the end of the on-ramp, you better be doing 55mph! And when you're making a left, pull out into the intersection so other people can turn too!

Peter,
I think you might have a good idea here. Come up with some sort of holder with a plastic window that allows you to switch out messages. The holder should connect to various parts of bicycles (seatpost, rack, etc) for maximum versatility & number of potential purchasers. The license plate holder thingy is a good idea for starters-every bike needs one, doesn't it? Then, take all of the ideas here and have them printed on something like cardboard or plastic that is rigid (use both sides). Then offer the entire package with 100 quotes. Sell your product to QBP and let them distribute it to all of the bike shops.
I suppose my concern is that it is a bit of a wind blocker, but if mounted properly and since it's behind the rider, it shouldn't be that big of a problem.
