So after a long bit of deliberation on my part, I decided to upgrade from my Karatemonkey (sold) to a geared 29er.
I plan on using 29er slicks on a second set of wheels for commuting but I don't want to load down the fork with gear and my 240 lb. frame. So I have been looking at building a bamboo bicycle trailer to haul my loads from home/work/school until I save up enough to buy a full-time commuter.
My question is the weight issue. I usually weigh in at 180 lbs. but ballooned up to around 280 over the last year due to injury and playing video games between work and school.
Now I'm stripping off the weight fast again, but during the time I am riding from 240-180 is that going to do a lot of damage to the fork's suspension parts?
