OK, time to get lose those holiday pounds. The joint Cascade / SIR winter training series starts again January 8.

I've done a couple of these rides each of the past two years, and will hope to make a few this year as well. Great mix of rides; varying terrain; nice routes. And a very nice group of riders.

Here's a link to the schedule -- rules, expectations also on the SIR site:

1 1/8/11 Redmond-Carnation ( Sammamish Valley Cycles) 36 miles
2 1/15/11 Camano Island (Stanwood Haggen) 54 miles
3 1/22/11 Southcenter-Dash Point (Southcenter Starbucks) 43 miles

[Note that the Chilly Hilly this year is on Sunday February 27]

Then on March 5 the SIR will sponsor their annual Spring Populaire -- a 100k brevet, an intro to randoneering for all riders, whether SIR members or not. Not sure if this year's route has been announced; usually it's hilly.

I'll be riding the Chilly Hilly, but I don't know about any of the WTS rides. They're great rides, but I'm just not up to them as of yet. So far I'm just 4 days back on a traditional bike, and only inside on the rollers. This weekend will be my first day back out on the real road, and hopefully I'll start building myself up with a couple days of commuting per week until I'm back up to full speed again.
Chilly Hilly will probably be my slowest yet, and definitely the least I've ridden for it since the past years I've ridden to/from the ride and made it a century.

P.S. - I hope to be back up to par for the SIR spring opener. Bummer that it won't be the Chili Feed again this year.
