I bought this 1996 Specialized M2 Pro at a garage sale for $65 for my daughter to ride when she visits (usually just during Christmas).

Well, I took it for a ride yesterday, and I like it better than my 1992 Trek 2300. It weighs 22 pounds (as opposed to my 24.25 lb bike), and that seemed noticeable on the hills (placebo?). It also seems more stable when I ride with no hands.
Also, the frame size is more appropriate for me (58 vs. 54), and her legs are shorter. I have to say, however, that with a long Technomic stem and the seat out to the max, my Trek has always been comfortable and efficient.
I mentioned I might use "hers" from now on and she's OK with that. I'll now move my longer stem and inline brake levers over to the specialized.
