I've tried Claritin, not much help... anyone like/dislike Zyrtec as a decent allergy med when the cedar trees decide to do the wild thing?

7000 grams per cubic meter of cedar pollen would suck more. I am pretty sure 7000 kg per cubic meter of cedar pollen is impossible.

You've never witnessed a Georgia Pollen Storm. It's like living downwind of Mt. Vesuvius, but with yellow-green ash (and it's not on fire--usually).

The only thing that helps me is Claritin D. I dont think the Claritin does anything, but the 24hr Sudafed is the only way I've found to keep the faucet to a slow drip. 2 more months to go...

I have pretty bad pollen allergies and use the following:

- Zyrtec (generic). It takes a couple of days to build the drug up in your system (i.e. no instant relief)
- Benadryl. Two of these for relief in 5-10 minutes. It will also knock you out.
- Pataday eye drops (antihistamine)
- Fluticazone & Astellin nasal sprays. One is an anti-inflammatory, the other an antihistamine.

You doctor or allergist can prescribe any of these meds. Additionally, changing clothes and getting a quick rinse-off helps.
