Folding Bikes - OK-looking budget UK 16" folder

Looks like the frame may be OK and worth upgrading a little. Still not exactly cheap. . . perhaps If I see one on ebay I'll go for it. The frame clamp looks like the older Dahon type, pre-2008.

For me what makes or breaks a lower-end folder is whether there's any play in the main hinges, i.e. there often is.

a 305 rim , on that , it appears, a PRC bike, just the seller is UK, I'd presume.

Brommys get nicked regularly In UK, fenced stolen ones are of course cheaper.

To start off... I have absolutely no experience with the bike you're inquiring about.
However, from past experiences with inexpensive folding bikes I'm very leery of bikes like this. If you're interest is merely for retail purposes, then all I can offer is advice to not use tag lines like "a bicycle for happy fun time that make the best for enjoyable being". Otherwise if you're looking to actually use it, I'd suggest you move along to something else.

With small wheeled/folding bikes the only real option is to go and try it!

So many have short wheel bases, insufficient saddle/handle bar height and lousy forward reach.

Local cash-and-carry has the same model (branded 'Scamper'? Or was it 'Scampi', or 'Scupper'?). They look OK. Not really a lot on them to go wrong TBH.

Mr Hembrow's web pages leading off from that review are very worthwhile. Guy obviously knows his bikes.

FWIW the 20" wheel version has the same gearing,
so suffers much less from any apparent undergearing.

forget about "shiny newness". for a little more cash you can find very good used bikes.

I should think the typical usage of sub-100 GBP folders is less than 100 miles a year and probably kept dry when not used. Keep a few years til the urge for a new bike overcomes you. So fair enough - the level of even the most basic componentry will put up with ten times that. What I do find laudable is that so many of these bikes are properly equipped with lights, reflectors, mudguards and carriers.

You do tend to get what you pay for, for £100 new. I got the 20" version
of the bike in the post #3 for £95 delivered. I'm happy with it but know
that its quite heavy and most of the componentry is basic budget stuff.

I got a decent £10 rubber suspension saddle and fitted some bar ends
to it, but now think a pair of these for £10 would be a better choice :
