Hello all,

Long time bike commuter (with trusty urban assault vehicle) is seeking to venture into the world of road bikes. The wife is planning on training for and completing a century this spring or summer, and I am included in those plans, so I have some time to shop. This forum looks highly useful - and entertaining - and hopefully I can contrtibute in some small way.

Cheers!

Welcome. If you are commuting to work in No. Va., you have...guts. That's a whole little city right across the bridges from DC. Good luck to you and your wife in the coming century.

I've been lucky - for my current job and the prior two, the commutes were primarily via bike paths. This area is getting savvier about bike commuters, fortunately.

Looking forward to training for the big ride - and more - but I gotta locate an appropriate ride first.

Some of the guys I ride with in the local Velo do the Seagull Century - it's in the fall in Salisbury/Ocean City area. Mostly flat course, I believe.
