Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm talking about the path that goes down past the Sanctuary, and South by the Rail Yards and over the cat walk bridge.
Someone has been doing some hand shoveling, ( the City never plows it ) Anyone on here care to own up? I was wondering about getting a group to meet up next weekend, and getting a ride-able path out of it? It can be done now, with a bit of skill/care, studs are a help, but a clear path would speed things up enormously. It would also help with those nervous moments where I sometimes think I'm at risk of going in the river. :(

Fed up with another winter of excuses and BS from Parks on why they will not clear the pathway south of Inglewood, I spent part of Thursday evening shovelling the path along Ogden Road between Millican Road and 50 Avenue. By chance I was soon joined by another SE cyclist fed up with the lack of snow clearing.
Together we spent approximately 90 minutes clearing 500 metres of path; you can now cycle on the path from Millican Road to the Bonnybrook Bridge without having to resort to Ogden Road or pushing your bike through the snow. Conditions from the bridge north to bird sanctuary still suck but I plan on tackling this section starting on Sunday morning. Anyone with a shovel or snow blower is more than welcome to join.

The current plan is meet up this Sunday the 16th at 9am, at this point, i am somewhat worried I'm coming down with flu, but intend to go if it just turns out to be sniffles.
Anyone else?

Reading about you guys doing this makes me feel so guilty as I ride on the lovely paths that the city clears for me.
Not guilty enough to actually shovel any snow however, sorry:)

well, pincott used to manually shovel paths before he became a councillor...
seriously, though, next big snow post a callout here and i'll show up with a shovel and maybe even a small posse.
