I'm looking to get into moutain biking after being a rodie for 5 years. I probably won't be doing any downhill mostly just cross country. Hardtail bike is a 29er but Camber has 26 inch wheels. What are pros and cons between full suspension and a hartail? Both have shimano compenents. I've mostly just rode sram. LBS couldn't help me any ideas?

Get a new LBS. One that's knows about bikes and wants to sell you something.

Hardtail: lighter, less expensive
FS: smoother ride, can provide better traction (dependent on the trail and rider skill), covers up for lack of rider skill (something I know a lot about).

You also don't mention 26" or 29" wheels for a hardtail.
