Anyone use toe covers on mountain SPD shoes? Any recommendations?

I use the full shoe covers. Only thing I will suggest is wear the shoes to the LBS and get the covers fitted by the staff. I take a 41 shoe- definitely on the small size but XL covers. Anything smaller would not fit over the MTB shoe.

I tried the only size my LBS had, and they were way too small for my size 15 SPD MTB shoes, so I wrapped the toe vents in electrical tape for my Sunday ride. ;-)
I use these because they are cheap and if I rip a pair I don't get too upset.

It all depends on how much coverage you want. I've tried boots, toe clip covers, and recently Rivendell Splats:

For cold weather get a full cover, but for coolish days I like the Louis Garneau covers: http://www.trisports.com/lg-tcovershoecovers.html
