Northeast - I need help finding a bike seller that really helps with sizing in New York City.

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to buy a nice hybrid for use in New York City (probably the Jamis Coda Sport).

The problem I keep running into is that bike sellers don't seem interested in helping me to find the right frame size and set up for my body. They just hand me a small or medium frame bike because I'm 5 foot 8 and ask me which I like better. The truth is I really don't know.

Is there a bike store in NYC that really helps with sizing and set-up (hopefully selling Jamis bikes)?

thanks a bunch,
David Golann

there are plenty of shops that will do sizing for you, but i can see how you might be frustrated.

Here's a suggestion: take the LIRR to the Douglaston stop and go to Peak Mountain Bike (they have a web site). there's a guy there i know - Kenny - who's a certified fitter and they sell Jamis.
