Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - Roadies and tours

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Tommy Saxondale toured with some of the biggest acts in the 70s, like Deep Purple, Genesis and Pink Floyd.

One wonders if all that hard work behind the scenes led to anger issues?

Don't know much about this roadie, but he might be more familiar to people in Jesusland.

I used to work in Tour Marketing for Capitol Records and went on quite a few tours. Later I was a marketing manager at MySpace and co-ran the myspace secret shows program. Traveled and did about 35 shows in a year all over the US

Crikey, either there's a serious humour deficit on this forum, or certain words have lost their meaning. Or maybe both.
If I need to explain that this is a parody of the various "roadie and..." threads, or that the term "roadie" has a meaning other than "one who rides a road bike," then I think I'll go pour myself a snifter of Glenfiddich and ruminate on why comedy and humour (or the lack thereof) in Jesusland (and Canuckland, I admit it) suck so hard.

I'm a roadie for a musician that doesn't tour.

I used to sometimes drink with the crew on one of my European show tours, back around 2001.
They were very hard drinkers. One of them drank his way into a stupor so permeating that he went across the room from his bed to the window to open it, forgot that it was already open, fell out the window and died.
This was probably the worst case, but there were many stories of severe dissipation from those times. I was always a lightweight in comparison.
