I'm 6' 215 lbs.
There's any empty lot next to my house that I could build some jumps in, so I was thinking about getting a BMX bike to play around with.

In other words,no. Look at his videos on youtube. He's big compared to skinny riders like me but the guy is a beast.

Dud Rob O is huge. And he's good. he can keep up with so many of the smaller, skinnier riders.

You're smaller than a couple of guys who were doing pretty good in racing, in the 90s. Gary Ellis (The Lumberjack) and Charles Townsend (Amtrack) were both over six feet tall, and if I remember right, both were fairly burly powerhouses.

6' 3" 260 and I race Cruiser from time to time. My pal Brian Green (former east coast Expert) still races at about 3 bills on 20" and Cruiser. You may want to consider a pump track and throw a couple jumps in for fun. Just an idea.
