Its a 105 and it on there pretty good. I had a big adj wrench with the bolt holding the BB tool in place and it would not budge. I am thinking about putting the tool in the vice and turning the frame. Its a steel Lemond. Any suggestions? Thanks

Yes 99% of bottom brackets have left hand threads on the right, including your leMond. Italian and French BBs have right threads on both sides.

Rust is very common in bottom bracket threads so some can be incredibly difficult to remove. Before trying harder and possible damaging the tool or cup soak the area with Liquid Wrench, Kroil, or a similar penetrating oil made specifically for removing frozen bolts. Apply if from both the outside and the inside. If the left cup is still in you can pout some down the seat tube. Give it time to work, then bolt the tool to the cup as you've already done, and try using a hammer or put it in a vise and turn the frame.

Le Mond is only French heritage, Greg was from Nevada,
[so the BB is not French thread pattern]

And his namesake bikes are (were) made by Trek so their heritage is from Wisconsin.

I wouldn't buy an (older) French bike to begin with. Too difficult to find parts, I think. I did own a couple of Look Carbon frames. The first one shattered in a crash. The second one came apart.

Lemond is not only French Heritage, his race bike are angle like French bikes. Long top tubes, unlike Italians, right.

My Zurich is made around 2000. Do you think it was build by Trek of someone else.

Lemond was the only American rider I looked up to as a kid in the mid 80s. Then came 7-11 team. a couple of them beat me up a lot during our local training rides in LA.
