Hello all !,Glad to find this great resource. I was given a 1978 Raleigh Carlton Gran Prix a few years ago.I loved riding to work until someone decided they needed the front tire and rim more than me.Need to find a replacement ,hope someone can help ?

Hi Ron, Very nice collection of bikes you have acquired over the years. I have only owned two road bikes (both Raleigh Carlton's) Neither were high end but fun to ride.When my my front wheel was stolen I lost interest in riding for a while.It's been three years scince then and I have been unable to find a original replacement.After reading the forums it appears the bike is only worth a hundred bucks at most.The local bike shops want sixty bucks for a rim and another twentyfive for a tire and tube,so I'm having a hard time justifying the purchase.As of August I aquirred a Shwinn Trailways Hybrid with the 700-c rims , it's a comfort bike so at least the rides are nice.
