All this time I though "Lady Gaga" was the singer of "Radio Ga Ga". I just learned the former is a song from "Queen". You could imagine my confusion:

Freddy Mercury was FAR more talented than Lady Ga Ga will ever be.

That is some serious confusion... LG is actually a very talented singer but few could ever hope to come close to the greatness of Freddy Mercury.

LG also will pocket $100 million in 2011. She's done it the hard way and has the flair, imagination and talent to reap the benefits. Good luck to her.

Mika is the only singer I've ever seen who I thought was in a league with Freddie Mercury. Some obvious similarities exist with voice and the like, and there have actually been a few videos of Mika singing queen songs. He lacks some of the grit Mercury had in his voice though and tends more towards the pop end of things.

Ha, even I know the story behind Lady Ga Ga and I know less about pop culture than my grandmother (seriously). That being said, I have seen some videos of Lady Ga Ga and she is actually quite talented and has me convinced, once you strip away all the glam and flair. She may be young, but she knows exactly what she is doing somehow.

In an interview on the boxed set that came out at Wally World several years ago, the guy asked Garth Brooks who he thought the greatest musician ever was. I was terrified that I was about to hear an answer that would make me lose all respect for Garth. He said that Elvis, the beatles, and Hank Williams were all great, but the greatest entertainer ever, period, was Freddy Mercury. He said that seeing Queen, in concert, was what made him want to be a professional musician. Instead of losing respect, it made me have even more respect for Garth's taste in music.

Ga Ga the costume, act etc is way over the top but her voice is legit when she sings stuff that uses it. she's also a pretty talented pianist. I think if she sung stuff like Christina Aguilera or Mariah Carey folks would think of her differently. Reminds me of a rock climber named Jason Kehl who is way out there in his appearance and stuff but doesn't get the respect other pro's do since he acts different.
