Does anyone have direct experience with using a conventional road crankset on these frames? The frame I have is an Ultegra 6503 (octalink) triple 52-42-30. I need a frame that will fit with that 52t chain wheel.

Another question concerning tire clearance. On the Performance site, there are some negative comments on getting a wheel with a larger tire on and off - I can't tell if they're talking about the front and rear wheel.

I remove my front wheel very often for transport. I will be using either cantis or V brakes, of course. I plan to ride this on paved and gravel roads as a commuter so will be using some 700c X 32mm tires I have. Will it be any problem at all to take off or replace the front wheel (assuming brake quick release opened)?

The rear wheel I'm not so concerned about - rarely remove it and don't mind if I have to deflate to remove or replace.

That crank should work fine. Just make sure to get a bottom bracket (if you don't have one already with the crank) for that crank.

The tire clearance issue is almost always the rear tire. It should be able to fit a 700x32 and if you don't have to remove it, all the better. Front tire shouldn't be a problem.

The forks I have seen have had really fat, round blades which is where some of the issue with wheel removal may come from since the pad contact the fork blade and doesn't open far. Using a canti with shorter, road style brake shoes may help?

The frame is nice. Regular road crank fits fine and a triple crank puts the big ring further out so it'll still be fine.
The front fork is where they complain. I believe 32 will fit easy but they are complaining about being able to put a larger tire in there for versatility etc. It has lots of clearance but if you fill it with fat tire you'll have to deflate to take it off.
