Hello all. Actually, I'm from Tsawwassen, a 'burb just south of Vancouver.

Getting back into road biking after a 20 year or so hiatus.....I think I'm actually more of a runner first and cycling is part of my cross-training. Considering triathlons this year. Picked up a Specialized Allez a couple summers ago then a Wilier Izoard last fall. Will post bike pic in appropriate thread.

Welcome!

Like you I'm a junior member to the forum who's been riding off and on for about 20 years.

If you haven't had much time on it yet You're going to love your Izoard. I got mine from Dave and staff too in Tsawwassen this past fall too and was crazy bout it! -I only say was because a crack showed up in mine so its being replaced. I'm upgrading to the Gran Turismo (which should arrive in about 10 days) and am hoping I'll like it at least as much as I did my Izoard. -took the GT because our model of Izoard was discontinued at the end of 2010 and replaced with a cheaper frame. Wilier offered me '10 Izoard in a different colour which I didn't like or I could pay the wholesale difference for GT.

Sorry -not trying to hijack your thread. I'm hoping to attend some of the time trial sessions that Delta Bike hosts this year. Maybe I'll see you there.
Cheers!
Trevor

Hey Trevor, sorry I didn't catch your post till now.

I love my Izoard and like you, was disappointed when the new "XP" was downgraded somewhat. I stepped up from a Specialized Allez - it's now my winter bike - as I wanted to see if I'd enjoy getting back to riding but didn't want to spend a whack load of cash is I didn't like it; I used to road race in college.

I think the GT looks terrific. Are you picking it up from Delta Bikes? Let me know when you are, and I'll ride up to the store - my house is literally a couple minutes away.

I'll send you a message when its in, Wilier waited another week before shipping it, so I'm hoping it will be in around the 7th or 8th of February. -it will be shipped to Delta Bike -you may even see it before I do.
Alas I am stuck on my nearly 20 year old Cannondale that's a size too small for me until my GT frame arrives. I never did any road racing but have always considered myself a roadie (did get a couple long distance mountain bike races in in my early 20's). Today its all about getting back in shape and perpairing to do the ride2survive in June -A Cancer fighting fundraiser and 1 day bike ride from Kelowna to Delta, as well as a few other big rides I've lined up this spring and summer.

Yes, let me know when it's in. I'll pop in and see Dave this week too. I'm planning to do the ride for cancer too to Seattle. My sister is going through chemo right now. And then there's the Kelowna and Whistler Gran Fondo I'm thinking about. Not to mention a few running races this year. It's gonna be busy, not to mention painful for me!

Hey Andry, almost a month later but got word my GT will be in on Thursday. They are taking apart a stock model and putting my Izoard's parts on it. I get to pick it up Friday afternoon! Cheers! Trevor
