I just returned from the funeral of one my best biking buddies.
A truck pulled out from a stop sign and didn't see Richard on his bike.
We all need to be especially careful.

Richard L. Nicodemus, 65, of Orangeville, died Monday in Freeport. Richard was born August 9, 1945 in Freeport the son of Ralph and Eileen (Thorn) Nicodemus. On August 9, 1963 Richard and Janis Bookman were married in Freeport. Richard worked at Kelly Springfield for 32 years. He was a member of Orangeville United Methodist Church and the Chain Link Cyclist Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He also like to go fishing. Survivors include his wife Janis of Orangeville, two sons; Kevin (Christine Myatt) Nicodemus of Brodhead, Wis, and Keith Nicodemus of Forreston, one daughter, Karen (Lance Brewer) of Albany, Wis, five grandchildren; Ashley and Kayla Huenefeld, Courtney Nicodemus and Jared and Aiden Brewer also Nick, Sammy and Andy Myatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert and his in-laws.
Funeral Services will be Friday 11:00 A.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home with the Pastor CheonEui Oh officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory. Please visit www.burketubbs.com to sign the online guestbook
