"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Has Your Season Started?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have been seeing race reports already and I was wondering if the season has already started in your particular state.
Here in Oregon the first race isn't until Feb. 19.
It will be first week of April for me.

Next weekend. My legs have said it'll really be a month though.

Week from today is start of the season for me. Way too early IMO, I'm still not where I want to be because of the Holidays.

Same here, assuming I can get approval from the CEO first.

Yeah.. That's the hard part, I have one more block before I do any real high intensity work (aside from racing on the weekend). But I have goals that require some patience.
Forgot to post about this but good luck to everyone this year. I know that we poke and jab at each other a lot but we all share a love for the sport and I just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck - train well, eat lots, ride fast.

he's secretly wishing to make us fat ;)
Thanks rkwaki, and best of wishes to everyone. I hope everyone gets into lot of good breaks and have none of the bad breaks (teeth, bones, frames, what have you).

I could race as early as this weekend, but I'm holding off until Boulevard on Feb 5th. If it's raining at Boulevard I'll wait until the next day at Red Trolley.

I figure if I fatten you all up it will give me a shot ;)
I am also currently trying to get everyone locally to go to a couple of races out of state so I can do the local ones - then it will be rkwaki FTW :)
mcjimbosandwich lets take a looke at that:
Breaks since August:
Teeth - one (molar - removed)
Bones - one (wrist - surgery)
Frames - one (BMC RIP)
Looks like I got rid of the bad breaks so that must mean good breaks are coming
Luckily not yet, I've got time to recover.
First race of the season in Washington is March 7th.
frostbite TT first week of march, then nothing till april when the madness starts in earnest.

Looked at the racing calendar and I'm bummed. I'll be in California when Webster-R and Squiggy are held. WR is fun in a really perverted way. And I'd like to do Squiggy again. That is a fast TT course. These are "fun" races. Squiggy would be cool because my wife and I have a dear friend that lives down there and it could be followed by the circuit race the next day. Dang!
My sights are set much deeper in the schedule. I need to erase the big FAIL I had last year at the State TT (time was 3 minutes slower than what I had done on my road bike with training wheels and non-aero helmet just weeks earlier). At the follow-up monthly team meeting I had numerous team mates ask me "WTF?" when they saw my time. It was a total fail.
And the Ocala stage race. That is an awesome event. Two RR's and a short ITT. And a true stage race with timings and not an omnium. All this and I get to sleep in my own bed all weekend.

Training crit starts March 6th, my first race will probably be April 16th.
I'm good for TT's right now. Crit's are going to kill me for the next two months. Too bad you'll miss your shot at Squiggy, I'm looking forward to it personally, but there will be a local TT on February 26th that will have an El Indio burrito on the line and no registration fee.

I love El Indio burrito's, but I'll only put it out there if it is for the "anything goes" time. No way that I can win any of the others. Given enough lead time I just might surpass K-dogg's outfit from last year.

You have six weeks to get your stuff together... ;)
