Foo - Carded at Walmart for buying fuel injector cleaner?

Why did this happen? I have never had to show my ID to buy fuel injector cleaner or any other automotive accessory at other stores. Is this a PA state law or a Walmart thing?

i've been in certain stores where they card all for liquor sales, even if they are with gray hair and on a cane.

Nope. Comes in a plastic bottle with twist off cap.

It contains an active ingredient that is a non-polar solvent in the manufacture of methamphetamine. They do ID checks so "cooks" can't buy it in large quantities either at once or over time.

It is unnecessary if you use "Top Tier" gasoline. If you use the cheap off brand, it is a good idea.

I'm unsure how checking ID's prevents me from buying multiple bottles of cleaner at once or over time; the cashier only verified I was over 18.

The only gas stations in my location are Country Fair and Sheetz, and since this isn't name brand stuff, I'm only left to assume that the stuff at their pump could be anything, quite possibly a cheap product.

The checkstand will only allow you to buy xx amount. If they scan too many it tells them no. Same with Sudafed.

Don't shop at Walmart...they are the devil.

Don't complain. Some asshat stole my CC # and made a copy complete with magnetic strip and bought almost $500 worth of merchandise two states over.

Best part? No one even bothered to ID him (this is Walmart after all). It was fun sorting that out...

Here in Wisconsin, Walmart allowed me to buy a 5" fixed blade knife at 16, shotgun shells at 18, but did not allow me to buy .22LR shells. Don't you think that a case of shotgun shells is more lethal than .22s? Think about it, if you shoot a squirrel with a shotgun, there will be no squirrel left. If you shoot the squirrel with a .22, the damn thing will keep on running...

I beleive that is Federal law, .22 can be used in a handgun, and you must be 21 to purchase handgun ammo. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

You are correct.

A police officer once told me a .22 was one of the worst things to be shot with. A .22 round has enough power to enter but not exit. Instead, they will bounce around and cause internal damage and bleeding.

Walmart doesn't make the carding policy, the state or township the bldg is in dictates that. You just happened to get an employee that remembered something from their 2 hour orientation video for their minimum wage job.

Interesting, that makes sense I suppose. The age to purchase a knife varies from store to store here. Walmart allows a 16 year old to buy a knife, Dick's Sporting Goods only allows 18+.

I got carded in a bar when I was in my 40's. Not a general policy, just because ABC had been hastling them and they were taking zero chances on even the most technical violation, or hint of such.

Walmart might have been in a similar mode at that store. They may have decided to tell the clerks that if in doubt about an item card and if the customer protests then call a manager. E.g. better to have no hints of a possible violation.
