I had the pleasure of doing some laps beside a fellow BF'er tonight. I wish I had more time to chat but he was in a class and we were sort of encouraged to alternate track time.

So, will you do LTR2 man? Once you do LTR2 you can pay the $46 and drop in any time. And I expected some giant asian dude like Yao on a bike. Was that a rental you were on? Why no saddle at the end there?

Next time let's chat some more man!

Um, no. Not sure how you extrapolated that. He was doing a course and I was just training and we shared some track time. You lot sure do assume the negative when it's not warranted.

It was his first time and I wanted to see what his impressions were. It's not every day I bump into a fellow BF member.

I think, but am not sure, that cc700 was only teasing (hence the 'jeluz').

Thats cool. Do you have to wear jerseys at the track? Or can you go in with regular shorts and a tshirt?

Doc, you were so fast, I was on your wheel for like a lap and after that I started to lose it. It was so fun, it's definitely the best 30 bucks I've ever spent on anything. I was on the rental Trek T1, I'm in love with that bike. It fits me perfectly, so responsive, so so comfortable. I saw you at the beginning around 6:45ish and you were just standing there looking around, I had to go fix up the rental bike to fit me though.

I'm mostly legs for my height, which explains the 10 feet of seatpost I had on my conversion. Oh, I brought my own saddle and I took it off at the end...I really wished I could've stayed for a bit to do several more laps with you but AaronH was giving me a ride...didn't want to hold him up.

I can't hold a line very well but I am still learning. I took your advice to look down the track and it made a lot of difference, I was more confident to go faster.

I will definitely take the LTR2 very soon...maybe somewhere in the beginning of Feb...after the LTR2, we could just head out there and put on some laps together.

Vix - a Cinelli is automatically faster than an IRO, even when standing still.

I wish our closest velodrome wasn't 4 hours away.. Sounds like fun!

I was a little surprised to see two young guys show up for Learn To Ride 1 in skinny jeans.

I think there were 15 of us on the session, wearing everything from full road kit to casual (though not baggy) clothes

Haha! No it wasn't even my IRO, it was just the rental Trek T1.

I know! My buddy Oskar just rolled up his pants and he never rode in the drops.

there's a drome around hurr that is open air...with low fences. A couple buddies said they snuck in once. Not that I condone that sort of thing.

Yep. I was the one that assumed the negative. Sorta hard not to around here, the irony and humour from some is genuine, others are just being dicks. Post #11 is the usual tripe.

If you guys do do that, be polite, kind, and quiet...and clean up. Most velodromes are volunteer operations. It sucks to clean up beer cans, bottles, etc from folks that come in after hours. Oh, and be very careful. VERY careful. If the amberlamps has to come get someone from there at midnight, there might be lots of clampdowns from the city. The velodrome association doesn't need that kind of attention. If neighbors complain enough to the city, the city might start adding unnecessary restrictions. In short, be cool about it, bro.

The only way to ride, in my opinion. One thing I hate about the LA scene lately is that a lot of rides I go on attract a lot of younger folks who have no respect. Which is making the scene a lot less enjoyable, especially to those of us who try to avoid confrontations with the law, cars and people in general.

Hairnet - When you're back from Argentina, let me know and we'll set up a ride to the drome.

How much is it to ride one day in BC? Do I need to bring shoes/pedals? If either of you go again, I'd be interested in tagging along when I come back up.

Well, due to some complications with the track, we're not able to go tonight for the LTR2 and we will be doing LTR on late February.

joker, drop in to ride is $20 and $10 for rental bike if you're not bringing your own. It's best to bring your own shoes and pedals and helmet...saddle too. Message me if you're going to be coming up here to ride the track.

I def. will next time I'm up. I'll just have to remind myself to bring up some bike parts in addition to the snowboard gear =]
