Foo - I'm tired and don't feel like working

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've been so tired lately. I've been drinking Mt Dew all day and stay up late playing video games and I really hate getting out of bed when I only have a few hours of sleep. It seems like we are so constrained with time trying to keep up with the pace of America. I actually fell asleep at work yesterday and got a written warning. I tried explaining to my boss that I need time for myself and don't always have time for work but he just refuses to see my side of it.
I'm afraid I'm going to lose my job but I don't have any money saved up and my credit cards are maxed out. So essentially I don't have a plan if I lose my job. I can get unemployment but last time I barely had enough money to party on the weekends and got evicted for not paying rent.
In a country like this, nobody should be in this situation. Jobs shouldn't be able to fire you just because you don't feel like working. When I start my business in June, my employees won't have schedules and I'll pay them however many hours they tell me. Anything less is inhuman.

look, i agree with you that most people are lazy and living on a razor's edge and the second anything goes wrong they run crying to the government to save them from their own lack of preparation. this infuriates me, especially since i have to do without a lot of things i want in order to make sure i have money for a rainy day.
but this is still kind of a stretch.
Have a couple kids and you'll be set.

Poor guy.... .
....Heck. My job was so exasperating and the work schedule so extreme, I'd almost fall asleep while trying to stay awake by not sitting down and standing up. Should I lean against a wall, I might still fall asleep.. glad they had not as of yet, put in cameras to tell all. But, then falling off while standing up- they might have given me an A for trying.
.good thing I was able to escape, because probably, eventually I'd been fired for screwing up due to extreme fatigue.

It's really weird, since about the beginning of this year.
Like some kind of transdimensional vortex to the universe of stupid opened up and sent a gaggle of its ambassadors to P&R.
This is one of the most pathetic, idiotic troll attempts I've seen in a while.

Heck. If I lived in St George, UT; I'd also rather ride my bike than work . ^....
Considering the area ( southern Utah) is known for extended families of 50 or more; could always become a male gigilo and live off of the fat of the land. Besides, that is horizontal work.

I see his message and kinda agree, but a poor parallel at best tho.
I got sick last summer, a vector borne disease in fact that the docs around here didn't want to treat. I even got booted out of an emergency room too when I tried checking into a hospital. Chit had me down for half of last year and I'm still feeling the effects of it. I'm a single father, but I didn't come on BFs wining about it and how inhuman it is that society wouldn't take care of me.
When a certain someone goes into business for them self, they will find that nasty lil thing called 'overhead' is a real beetch.

Sounds like it's almost time to shave your head and eyebrows...
You need to join the Marine Corps. They will feed, clothe and give you medical care. Course the video games might have to go (not sure, I was old Corps) and you will probably be tired too, but you will know why.

lazy people can starve to death for all i care. i'm 100 percent serious.
i'm assuming since this is BF most of us here aren't truly lazy, or at least we're in the top half of active people in the US

there's different kinds of lazy....mental laziness (ie. not even trying to be prepared), and physical laziness( sitting on arse watching oprah all day long). Both are bad, but sometimes, you have to have a down day, either physically or menatlly. Its when it becomes a way of life that its a problem.
Have you ever noticed the really really lazy people do more work to get out of work then they would have just do it to start with?

Seems to me the OP is trolling one particular person here in P and R. And this particular person is representative of a lot of people in this country who are essentially below the poverty line and living without benefits all the while working two or sometimes three jobs just to get by. It's pretty pathetic to consider the working poor to be lazy and looking for government handouts when they are working probably 5 times as hard as the OP who has the luxury of taking some time off of his 'busy' day to post on BF.

So lessee how this works...
Some n00b comes strutting in, dumping some the foulest chum I've seen since bluejay, and then our resident Palenites run in and slurp it up self-righteously.
Heh.

I hope this isn't true. You shouldn't make comments about anyone's financial/social class or their job(s). It's just tacky, low class, and vulgar.

get off the dew, get on the fitness. Also, no weed during the week.
I've been doing this new explosive workout, I can't believe how badly it's torching my muscles. I used to workout 1-1.5 hours, now I work out 20mins with much lighter weights, but faster, hence the explosive, and it's definitely hitting me in areas that haven't been hit before. Anyways new year resolution is going well, hope you fellas are having some success too.

Now there's someting you don't see every day.
I like pie. I am going to put my head on my desk now.
One of my coworkers was such a vid game addict. He'd play for over 12 hours every day, then come to work. He left work one day in his new car (<1wk old) and rolled it into a ditch less than a block from work because he fell asleep at the wheel.
(He was not injured but did total his car)

Nobody likes to work. The only people who do are insane, stupid or lying. But it pays for all the Xboxes and braces for the kids, so you just do it.
