$400 is too much for you? Then why are you looking at Republic bikes (the cheapest of which, by the way, are also hi-ten steel)?

Yes it is, but don't forget that it doesn't include pedals/clips/straps or brake calipers/levers. So actual cost is probably closer to $500.

the little animation on the republic bikes page in the bottom middle. That is it. Nothing else.
