I have never had a scale in my house - when I was a kid or since I have left home. The only time I ever check out my actual weight on a scale is if I happen shower at my in-laws after a ride and I use their scale.
So many posts on this forum mention their exact weight and I was wondering if people out there find having a scale in the house as motivation. How often do you check?

Twice a week, monday and thursday mornings.
I check mine once every couple of weeks. If I had one of those fancy ones with the digital read out and body mass index and all sorts of do-dads I might check it more often.

I only use the scale at the gym. I have one at home, but it doesn't seem accurate to me. Some days it will say that me, my husband, and my dog are the exact same weight... we're not.
The one at the gym is like the ones they have a doctor's offices with the slidey thing. I check about once a week.

Every several weeks, when I think I might have lost enough weight since I last weighed myself to not disappoint me. Most times I find my weight is constant even though the clothes that used to be too tight are now too loose.
When I thought I'd have to replace my trousers with the next waist size up and instead am replacing them with the next waist size down, honestly what the scale reads is of secondary importance.

There was a scale in one of the bathrooms when we bought our home. It is the bathroom our sons use and the scale is still there. Not sure if it ever gets used except when I take it outside to weigh the propane tanks on the BBQ or our travel trailer to see how much propane is in them. I get weighed at doctor appointments which means usually once or twice a year.
Once a week on Monday mornings. I have a nice scale but no bells and whistles. Just the weight.

I avoid daily weighing, too, but really only because it can fluctuate so much for all kinds of reasons that might not have anything to do with long-term weight loss or gain. In effect, I could easily get "bad" information. In fact, if I could muster the patience to do it, I'd only weigh myself once a month, but I'm much too short-sighted to be able to do that and remain motivated in the long stretches in between (plus, weekly WW weigh-ins effectively rule that out as an option). So I do what I can with my Friday routine to make sure circumstances (sodium intake, fluid intake, exercise level, etc.) are as consistent as I can make them all day, and then weigh in on rising each Saturday morning.

I used to weigh weekly. This month, I decided to try to go the whole month without the emotional ups and downs of weighing myself. I'm at a place where I don't want to lose over a pound a week. A weekly weigh may not be very good information. I guess I'll find out if this was wise or not ten or eleven days from now.

I'm a ***** for numbers so I weigh myself more than once per day. I also have a kitchen scale for weighing exact serving sizes.
I like having the ability to track things. Maybe it has something to do with being a math minor.

When I'm trying to lose weight, daily -- or twice a day, once when I wake up and once right before bedtime (as a preview of coming attractions!). When I go weeks without weighing myself, I find that I gain weight. It's a "noisy" signal -- there are lots of one to two pound daily fluctuations, and the "time of the month" effect -- but trend analysis helps clean that up.
No, I'm not a math minor -- I was an engineering grad student.
