Foo - National Pie Day!!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. When I read the title I thought you were referencing "Pi" day which is March 14th(3.14).

A fried pie stand? Tell me more!

It's just like the going to the fair, only its the size of a bathroom stall, and everything has a greasy sheen on it.

I'm surprised to see this thread on the Road Forum. The Fifty-Plus Forum has made pie an iconic food and has an annual Pie Day ride, sometime in September I believe.

So someone took a pie stand and dipped the whole stand in a large vat of hot oil to make a fried pie stand?

I guess while I'm out with the Night Riders (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Night-Riders/98600363957), I'l suggest we hit up Micky D's or Whataburger for some pies.
I've been off the pie now for nearly nine years. I used to be a hard core pie addict. Apple, strawberry-rhubarb, banana cream, cherry, I loved them all. Baked my own as well. I'd have two pies going at once in case I finished one. Lemon meringue pie was the only pie worthy of being eaten at breakfast.
Then in 2002 I signed on for a cycling tour in France in July '03. I wanted to be in shape to climb some of those mountains in the Pyrenées. So in August, I quit the pie cold turkey. I haven't had a slice since.

I had no idea. And further to that... do all of these holidays actually exist?
