Has anyone had experience with these double toe straps? I picked up a pair at my LBS for $60. They seem to be far better quality as compared to the Soma/Origin8 straps. The leather is much thicker and the interior surface is more "furry". With that price, they seem to fill the gap between the higher end Toshi's and lower quality Soma/Origin8 leather straps. Is the quality reflected in the price?

I did some googling, and apparently they are made in San Francisco by bike messengers. It looks like they use a belt buckle system to tighten the straps, which would make them rather hard to tighten and loosen or to get a precise tightness setting. The way I use straps, they wouldn't work.

Plus they seem to be simply one piece of leather as opposed to Toshis (and others) which have laminate sandwiched between two pieces of leather which prevents stretching and breakage.

"Previously available only to San Francisco bike messengers. Plemons is finally making these legendary toe straps available to the rest of us."

Gee. Thanks.

I would have passed on them.
