Foo - From the jaws of defeat (a.k.a Fred emo action)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It's been a rough time lately, and I was expecting a major lifestyle change today. But the day has ended well.
We've come a long way together, but everyone has a breaking point. When things looked like they couldn't get any worse, I told my wife that if I ever needed a ride, it was today. Whether you need to adjust your attitude or come to terms with reality, sometimes the best medicine you can possibly take is to go into the red zone and hold it there until you can't anymore.
I came back emotionally and physically wasted, but copacetic with inevitability. But somehow, things are back on track. Effin A.

I too need a long, hard ride. Preferably someplace where there's no one else...just me, the bike, and if I'm lucky a hungry bear.

Hang in there. A bike ride was a good idea. Problems are best tackled when calm.

I'm thinking shrinks and counselors should be pushing hard physical exercise. The process cleanses your mind and spirit. Mellowed out by a combination of endorphin high, pain, and exhaustion, you're much better equipped to handle just about anything. I'll be hurting from that ride for a few days. Wouldn't want it any other way.

I have also found that exercise is a great way to deal with stressful situations. Somehow I'm always able to think clearer afterward.

I'd settle for a massage with a happy ending.
