Classic & Vintage - Built a couple chainwhips

It's FREEZING cold out today and not much needed on my bikes so I thought I would put together a couple chainwips.... I've been wanting two of these for some time, but was too cheap to buy them so I thought, why not make your own? It took all of 30 minutes and I just gave them a test on a freewheel, and they work great:thumb:

Is the handle stock just thick enough to peen over the end of the chain pin? I'm going to have to try that.

Yes, the stock is 3/32" thick and works perfect....... For anyone interested in making their own:

All three holes are drilled 5mm from the edge of the bar using a 5/32" bit.
Distance from top hole to middle hole center to center is 55mm.
Distance from middle hole to bottom hole center to center is 20mm.
You can count the links to see how many I used.
The bars are 12" long.

I just broke a couple more freewheels apart, and they wor perfectly.

Now all you need to do is add some handlebar tape at the opposite end! Great job. Watch out Park Tools. CC is about to start his own label.

That's funny.......... I was going to do just that. I'm sure glad I didn't go out and spend the money to buy these cause they are so easy to make, and they were free.

Here they are......... I even used Park Tool blue tape LOL.

Nice work Capecodder! I made one from a flat pry bar that I found on the road while riding, it looks a bit funky but it works.
