From the banned users thread:

The Weak Link, permanent, at his own request.

Politics, and Religion... small stuff.
Why not tackle a controversial topic like chain lube!

I guess participating in some kinds of threads can bring out the most undesirable traits in anyone. Absit invidia verbo (non offence be intended in my words) is something to consider when posting on any forum.

If he is banned at his own request, he is not being disciplined. Although I've never seen a "permanent, at his own request" ban before.

Sometimes members have a need to focus on the other parts of their lives, and request a ban to help keep them away the virtual world of Bikeforums.

I would suggest that TWL may have urgent issues in his life on which he needs to concentrate his energy.

I will sincerely miss him, and hope he will rejoin us.

There are some amazing resources in this group, and folks who have faced and dealt with critical issues and who can provide support and encouragement.

Odd. When banned I assume one can still read the forum but not participate. I understand the need at times to focus on other things, but there are plenty of ways to waste time here just by reading, without posting. Maybe he's upset that Keith Olbermann's show is ending.

Dang! I'm going to miss him. Who's gonna provide the counter balance to the prevailing point of veiw?
Hope he returns some day.

Well dang it. I am hoping he will eventually return. I enjoy his posts immensely and cannot imagine what has happened. Since he requested it I hope he hasn't had a personal emergency or a family problem. Let's hope all is well for him eventually.

It is strange but it happens from time to time. One of the regulars in the racing sub-forum self banned a couple weeks ago, I guess because he didn't like one of the other members. I have seen him posting on another forum so I know it's not a time issue.
Like I said then, I don't get it.

I'll miss him as well, and I hope he will return to 50+. Hope nothing is seriously wrong in his world.

Strange. I had noticed that his input had dwindled recently. The best to him!

His humor is unique. When I raced in the Master's Nationals in Louisville this past summer TWL was there on the big hill even though it was 101 degrees and his daughter was due to have a baby. I don't know the reasoning why, late in the race, he pulled out a large box of chocolate covered malt balls and invited me to stop and enjoy some melted candy.

We didn't get to meet after the race because he got a call to get to the hospital to be with his daughter.

I'm going to miss his cerebral wit; although he isn't above laughing at silly stuff as well. I remember cracking him up when I did some Beavis and Butthead shtick.
