Foo - Calling all Sunday afternoon nappers

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Anyone else enjoy Sunday afternoon naps? Best way of rejuvinating myself after a week of workplace stress. I remember as a kid wondering why adults wasted some of the best hours of the weekend. Now I know why :)

Usually I nap on Saturdays. Sundays are for my catching up on laundry, read the Sunday newspaper while the other half watches motocross or car shows and drink coffee.

I question whether you're using the term 'nap' correctly.

fire in the fireplace, football on tv, beer and hotdog in belly, nap sequence is well and truly underway.

I was asleep for like 1/2 the sermon at church today. Does that count?

I perfected my sleeping with my eyes open method at church. Comes in handy for work meetings and such.

I like a 10-15 minute "reset" nap everyday after work, along with a more proper nap during the day on weekends.

I was dumb enough to show interest, so they made me cubmaster.

It's funny. With my insomnia I have a hard time sleeping, but during the day it's no problem to doze off. The worst was when it happened while I was waiting at a red light. I woke up to the sound of a honking horn, cars going around me and the light turning yellow. :( Amazingly my foot was still on the brake.

I get 30 minutes for lunch every day. I work outdoors. My previous job was very physical; the current one not quite so. I got into a siesta habit -- eat lunch, nap for 15 minutes. Just about every day. I'm ready for the rest of the afternoon afterwards.

Naps after bike rides also go down well. Length of nap depends on how badly I am dehydrated, though.

I work until noon on Saturday, and then go home for a nap with the cats. And then my weekend begins...

I nap Sunday afternoons, as well as afternoons the rest of the week. My boss at work doesn't appreciate my napping much though.

I can't nap no matter how tired I am. I always wake up with a headache so bad that I can't see. Then I am groggy. Funny how I can wake up at 5:30am with 5 hours of sleep and I am ready to go every day, but nap for any amount of time in the afternoon and I never recover until the next morning. Hmmmm.

Now that my kids are almost 7, Sunday afternoons are pretty much ruined for naps. I remember the good old days when the kids were good for a couple hours of napping in the afternoons and I could say to my wife "I'm not lazy, I'm spending quality time with the kids!"

This is me, too. I can't tell you how much I envy people who can nap. MaxBabe can nap on demand. Doesn't matter the time of day or night. Me, no matter how tired I feel, I know that if I nap, I'll just feel worse afterwards. :(
